Salar de Uyuni 3 Day Trip

Day 1

The tour begins with a pickup from your hotel, airport, or bus station in Uyuni. The first stop is the Train Cemetery, featuring abandoned trains from the late 19th and early 20th century. Next, visit the indigenous community of Colchani to learn about traditional iodized salt processing.

Explore the Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt flat globally, including Salt Piles and the first salt hotel. Enjoy a lunch of Bolivian specialties before capturing the scenery. In the afternoon, trek around Incahuasi Island, home to towering cacti. Conclude the day with a sunset over the Salar de Uyuni. Dinner follows in Candelaria or San Juan, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 2

On Day 2, after breakfast, embark on a tour of the Eduardo Abaroa National Reserve. Visit San Juan for views of the active Ollagüe Volcano. Enjoy lunch and explore lagoons like Cañapa and Hedionda, home to pink flamingos. Traverse the Siloli Desert for natural monuments like the Stone Tree. The day ends at Colorada Lagoon with its red waters, followed by dinner and rest at your accommodation in Huayllajara.

After breakfast, see the nearby geysers and visit the Salvador Dali Desert. Explore Laguna Verde and Laguna Blanca, known for their colored waters. Visit the Valle de Rocas before stopping in San Cristóbal, which features one of Bolivia's oldest churches and a significant gold mine. The tour concludes back at your hotel in Uyuni around 5:30 pm.
