Salar de Uyuni 3 Day Trip

Day 1

After pickup from your hotel, airport, or bus station in Uyuni, the tour begins at the Train Cemetery, featuring abandoned trains from the late 19th and early 20th century. Next, visit the Colchani community to learn about iodized salt production. Explore the Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt flat globally, including the Salt Piles and the first salt hotel.

Enjoy a lunch of Bolivian specialties surrounded by unique landscapes, followed by a trek on Incahuasi Island with towering cacti. Conclude the day watching the sunset over the salt flats, followed by dinner in Candelaria or San Juan, where you will spend the night.

Day 2

After breakfast, set off for the Eduardo Abaroa National Reserve, exploring its lagoons and deserts. Visit San Juan for views of the active Ollagüe Volcano, then lunch before seeing the lagoons Cañapa, Charchota, Honda, and Hedionda populated by pink flamingos.

Visit the Siloli Desert with its unique natural formations and stop at the Colorada Lagoon known for its red waters. End the day with dinner and rest at your accommodation in Huayllajara.

Day 3

Start with breakfast and a visit to nearby geysers showcasing hot water columns. Proceed to the Salvador Dali Desert and then view the colored waters of Laguna Verde and Laguna Blanca. Explore the Valle de Rocas and visit San Cristóbal, home to an ancient church and a large gold mine. The tour concludes back at your hotel in Uyuni around 5:30 pm.

Electricity is limited on the second day, with a generator available for charging phones. Rooms are equipped with a small heater, but central heating is not provided.
