Uyuni to La Paz: 4 Day Tour

Day 1: Uyuni - Coqueza

At 10:30 am, pick up from your hotel in a jeep. Visit the Uyuni train cemetery and the village of Colchani to learn about salt production. After lunch, explore the Uyuni Salt Flat, the largest in the world, including the Incahuasi viewpoint. Dinner and overnight in Coqueza.

Day 2: Coqueza - Tunupa Volcano - Colcha K

Wake up early to view the sunrise over the salt flat. Breakfast, then visit the Coqueza caves to see the Coqueza mummies. Ascend Tunupa Volcano by foot and jeep before lunch. Travel to Colcha K, observing scenic landscapes along the way. Dinner and overnight in Colcha K.

Day 3: Colcha K - Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve

After breakfast, leave for the southern plains, crossing Chiguana Salt Flat and visiting the Ollague Volcano’s viewpoint. Enter Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve, stopping at Capaña and Hedionda lagoons to see Andean flamingos. After lunch, head to the Red Lagoon, then dinner and overnight at Polques Hot Springs.

Day 4: Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve - La Paz

Depart at dawn for Sol de Mañana, a geothermal area with geysers. Visit Laguna Verde at Licanbur Volcano’s base. Lunch in Villa Mar before returning to Uyuni via colonial mining villages. Board a sleeper bus at 8:30 pm to La Paz, arriving at 5:30 am.

Rainy season

During the rainy season, access to the middle of the salt flat is limited to approximately 6 to 9 miles (10 to 15 kilometers) on the first day before continuing to Coqueza, lasting until around March or April.
