Independent Kayaking on the Cares River
The Cares River stretches for 54 kilometers (33 miles) and is considered one of the most crystal-clear freshwater rivers in Asturias. For those looking to embrace the lush green scenery in a unique and enjoyable manner, this solo kayaking descent offers an ideal opportunity.
Setting off from Niserias, you'll have ample time to complete the 22-kilometer (13-mile) trek. The river's gentle current means you can simply float along, soaking in the experience without excessive effort.
Should you wish to take a moment to unwind, you'll come across several spots where you can pause for a snack, enjoy a refreshing drink, or simply relax and immerse yourself in the natural surroundings.
Your journey concludes at the confluence with the Deva River, situated in the Cantabrian village of Unquera. Here, a minibus will be available to transport you back to the original meeting point in Pesués.
