On this guided tour of the Fonte Baxa Garden, we'll discover one of the most beautiful places in Luarca. We'll walk among plants brought from different parts of the world and admire valuable pieces of art!
Fonte Baxa Garden Guided Tour
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Fonte Baxa Garden to begin a guided tour through this forest of Luarca. We'll see camellias, rhododendrons, holly, yews, birches, cedars, chestnut trees, and many other plant species.
We will explore one of the largest private botanical gardens in Europe and learn about its history and the life of its owner and founder, the Marquis of San Nicolás de Noras, José Rivera y Larraya.
During the tour, we'll visit iconic points of the garden that features plants from all over the world, including areas that represent regions such as Japan and Lebanon. We will also see several art pieces within the garden, including a fountain from the House of Alba, Roman columns, and the portico of a convent.
After a 2-2.5 hour tour, we'll conclude back at the starting point.
Tour with a Picnic
You can book an option with a picnic, which includes a portion of homemade meat or tuna pie, a sausage roll, a piece of fruit, a sweet, and water or soft drink. This picnic will be provided at the end of the visit for you to enjoy inside the Fonte Baxa Garden.
Additionally, there is a vegan picnic option, consisting of a bottle of water, "La Galga" hummus with green vegetables and chickpeas, seasonal vegetable crudités, bread, and "La Galga" chocolates with nuts and coconut topping.
