Valencia de Alcántara Offroad Tour
We'll meet at the designated time at the bullring in Valencia de Alcántara. Once assembled, we will board an off-road vehicle and begin our tour of two significant locations.
First, we will travel through the Sierra de San Pedro to visit one of the most important megalithic sites in Europe, where we will walk among granite and slate dolmens over 4000 years old, which serve a funerary purpose.
After visiting the archaeological site, we will head to Berrocal de la Data, recognized as the fifth natural monument in Extremadura. This 465-hectare area consists of a group of uniquely shaped granite rocks that serve as nesting sites for griffon vultures, surrounded by extensive forests of chestnut trees, scrubland, and cork oaks.
Additionally, millenary cave paintings and five dolmens have been identified at this location: Data I, Data II, Mellizo, Cajirón I, and Cajirón II. Here, we will enjoy a picnic featuring typical local products such as cheese and chorizo.
Finally, we will return to the starting point in Valencia de Alcántara to conclude this 3-hour tour.
