  • 2 Stunden

The historic silk exchange, the gothic cathedral, and the Serranos Gate are highlights of our medieval Valencia city tour, showcasing the legacy of the Kingdom of Valencia.

Medieval Valencia Tour

The guided tour begins at the Serranos Gate, an architectural symbol built in the 14th century. This period is key to the city's history, which will be explored during the tour.

The conquest of Valencia by James I in the 13th century initiated a transformation for the city. As we stroll through the historic center, these changes will be evident.

The cathedral of Valencia is a landmark in the old town. The bell tower, the Miguelete, has a fascinating history that our guide will detail while you admire the architecture. The medieval architect Pere Balaguer contributed to the construction of the tower and many other important monuments.

The iconic Llotja de la Seda, or Silk Exchange, is another example of Valencian Gothic architecture. As we view its façade, we will discuss the mix of architectural styles and the significance of the commercial activities that shaped Valencia's past.

After a total of 2 hours, the tour concludes at Plaza de la Reina, the city's heart.
