For centuries, Valencia was home to the Gremi de Velluters, producers of silk velvet. The booming silk industry there originated with Genoese artisans and was consolidated during the 15th century. The Silk Museum showcases the history and development of this trade, covering aspects from its discovery to the breeding of worms and the elaboration of silk on the looms. There were almost 5000 looms in Valencia, and many other curiosities will be revealed with this ticket to the Silk Museum. Visitors can admire the tools and machines used in production, along with samples of silk velvet and traditional costumes.
Museum Opening Times
The Silk Museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm and Sundays and holidays from 10 am to 2:30 pm.
Combo Ticket
A combo ticket is available, which includes an audio guide in 5 languages (including English) for the Church of Santos Juanes, San Nicolás, and the Silk Museum. This ticket allows a month to visit these three monuments. Children under 12 years old enter free.
