Valencia Cathedral + Borgia Legacy Tour
We'll kick off our guided tour of the Borgia Family in Valencia by meeting at the indicated time at Manises Square, in front of the Palace of the Generalitat.
After a brief introduction, we'll begin our route through the city searching for the Borgia Legacy. The family, originally from Borja in Zaragoza, settled in Jativa and Gandia, influencing many areas, including the capital city.
Throughout our guided tour, we'll pause at various churches and palaces to appreciate their architecture and the different symbols of the Borgia family. The Borgia family possessed an extensive art collection, including the renowned Holy Grail. We'll explore the merit behind this legend during our visit to the Valencia Cathedral.
As we enter the cathedral, we will continue our discussion on the Borgia family's deep ties to the church, with two family members, Calixtus III and Alexander VI, having become Popes.
After 2.5 hours, we'll conclude our tour at St. Lawrence Square, where the current seat of the Valencian Parliament is located within the Palace of Benicarló, also once owned by the Borgia family.
