Valencia Cathedral + Borgia Legacy Tour

We will commence our guided tour of the Borgia Family in Valencia by meeting at the appointed time at Manises Square, in front of the Palace of the Generalitat.

After a brief introduction at the presidential palace, we will begin our exploration of the Borgia Legacy. This prominent family, originating from the Zaragozan region of Borja, established their presence in the Levantine coastal areas of Jativa and Gandia. We will observe the extent of their influence from city to city, including the capital.

During our guided tour, we will stop at various churches and palaces to examine their architecture and the various symbols of the Borgia family embedded within. The Borgia family possessed a significant art collection, including pieces such as the Holy Grail. We will investigate the merit of this legend on our visit to the Valencia Cathedral.

Upon entering the cathedral, we will further explore the legacy of the Borgia family, notably their connections to the church, with two family members having become Popes: Calixtus III and Alexander VI.

After 2.5 hours, our tour will conclude at St. Lawrence Square, home to the current Valencian Parliament, located within the Palace of Benicarló, which was once owned by the Borgia family.
