Tour Options

During the booking process, you can choose between two options, both lasting 7 hours and including pickup and return transfer to your hotel in Valledupar, as well as a guide exclusively for you. Below, you'll find a brief description of each one:

Diomedes Díaz Private Tour

This option explores the iconic places in Diomedes Díaz's life. The first stop will be at the Mamá Vila house, his mother's residence, where we will discuss his childhood. Next, we will visit the cemetery where his loved ones are laid to rest.

We will continue to La Junta, Diomedes' birthplace, to see Cacique's Park, featuring a sculpture of him and a walk of fame of his discography. Nearby, the Ventana Marroncita Museum provides insights into his love story with Patricia Acosta.

We will also visit the Carrizal Museum and the Museum of Rosa Elvira Díaz, showcasing items from the prominent vallenato artist. A local village stop for a traditional lunch will precede our return to Valledupar.

Juglares Vallenatos Private Tour

This tour focuses on both Diomedes Díaz and the history of the Juglares vallenatos, including notable figures such as Rafael Escalona and Jorge Oñate.

We'll start at La Jagua del Pilar and visit Urumita, the birthplace of the iconic song “Gota Fría”. Following this, we'll explore the Museo del Vallenato in Villanueva and the Museo Carrizal, which feature significant artifacts of the vallenato genre.
