Tour Details
We'll meet at the Tourism Office in Valls at the designated time. Once everyone has arrived, we'll begin a walking tour of this city in the province of Tarragona, the birthplace of the castells, the famous human towers.
On this guided tour of Valls, you'll uncover the phrase: "In Valls, people like to look at the sky" and discover many other curiosities about this city with over 8 centuries of history.
First, we'll walk through the streets of the historic center of Valls and discuss the city's commercial activity, which spurred the increase of the Jewish community in the 13th century. We'll then reach Plaza del Blat, where you'll learn about the castell tradition.
Next, we'll visit the Refugio Antiaéreo de la Guerra Civil to learn about local stories during this historical chapter in its underground galleries.
Our next stop will be at the Parish of San Juan Bautista with the tallest bell tower in Catalonia. After admiring it, we'll proceed to the Plaza de L’Oli, an Asset of Local Cultural Interest in Catalonia.
To conclude, we'll visit the Capilla del Roser, a 14th-century chapel with a collection of over 2500 tiles honoring the Battle of Lepanto, a National Tourist Heritage Site.
After this 1-hour guided tour, we'll end at the chapel's exterior.
