Cachagua Island Penguin Watching

Spend the day visiting one of Chile's main Humboldt penguin colonies on our excursion to Cachagua Island. We'll set off from Viña del Mar to see these animals up close.

Cachagua Island Penguin Watching

At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Viña del Mar and head north, passing through Reñaca, Concón, and the mouth of the Aconcagua River.

Our route ends in Zapallar, a coastal town where we'll board a fishermen's boat and sail to Cachagua Island, home to an important colony of Humboldt penguins.

During this 1-hour boat trip, we'll observe pelicans, seagulls, and ducks, along with the penguins. This ecosystem is biodiverse as it serves as a habitat for various seabirds.

The boat trip concludes at Zapallar dock. We will then visit a local empanada bar to try this Chilean delicacy, accompanied by a drink of your choice, either a soft drink or mineral water.

After our snack, we will return to your hotel in Viña del Mar, dropping you off at 3 pm.
