Funicular Tour of Valparaiso

We will pick you up from your accommodation at the designated time. This tour focuses on Valparaíso's funicular railways that operate on the hillsides. You will explore different neighborhoods using these historic elevators.

Throughout the tour, you'll learn about the origins of this public transport system and have the chance to ride one of the oldest funiculars in Valparaiso. Locations visited include Barrio Puerto and Cerro Cordillera, featuring the Cordillera and San Agustin funiculars.

You will also visit Cerro Alegre, home to the well-known Concepción elevator, the first inaugurated in the area. Here, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the coastline.

By the end of the tour, you will have ridden all seven operational funiculars in Valparaiso and explored the connecting hills. The tour lasts 4.5 hours.

You can opt for the tour without pickup. In this case, you will meet the guide at Plaza Sotomayor in Valparaíso at either 10:30 am or 3:30 pm, depending on your selection.
