Tour Details
We'll meet at the indicated time at Plaza Sotomayor to start the tour, following in the footsteps of Pablo Neruda and exploring the places that inspired his works. Our journey begins at the First Pier with the story of Lord Cochrane and its connection to Valparaíso. We will also pass by the First Fire Company, the Ministry of Culture, and the Navy Building, deepening our understanding of Neruda's admiration for sea trades.
Next, we'll ascend Cerro Alegre via the Peral funicular, offering views of the city and port. At Paseo Yugoslavo, we will admire the bay, referenced in Neruda's verses. We'll descend the Bevestrello stairs and walk along the Gálvez passage, experiencing the classic Bohemian atmosphere.
We will then visit the Gervasoni and Atkinson viewpoints for a view of the port's charm. Crossing the Piano staircase, we will reach Dimalow passage, lined with local cafés and shops. Finally, we will take the Reina Victoria elevator to the Casa Museo La Sebastiana, Neruda's residence, where his passion and love for Valparaíso are evident.
