We'll meet at the indicated time at Plaza Sotomayor to start this tour, following the footsteps of Pablo Neruda, exploring places that inspired his works and passion for the sea.
Our journey begins at the First Pier, where we'll share the story of Lord Cochrane and its connection to Valparaíso. We will pass by the First Fire Company, the Ministry of Culture, and the Navy Building, enhancing our understanding of Neruda's admiration for sea trades.
Next, we'll ascend to Cerro Alegre via the Peral funicular for views of the city and port. In Paseo Yugoslavo, we'll admire the horizon present in the poet's verses. We'll descend the Bevestrello stairs and walk through the Gálvez passage, absorbing the Bohemian atmosphere valued by Neruda.
We'll seek the Gervasoni and Atkinson viewpoints for views of the port and cross the Piano staircase to reach the Dimalow passage with local cafés and shops.
Finally, we'll take the Reina Victoria elevator to Casa Museo La Sebastiana, Neruda's residence, showcasing his passion for life, eccentricity, and love for Valparaíso. This tour lasts between 3 to 4 hours.
