Explore an island paradise and its volcanic landscapes with this brilliant hike of São Jorge. You'll discover the unique beauty of the Azores.
São Jorge Hike
At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in São Jorge and take you to the Fajã do Ouvidor and Fajã dos Cubres viewpoints for panoramic views of the island.
Next, we'll visit a cheese factory in Beira, where you'll sample the award-winning product with protected status.
We will then embark on a trek through valleys rich in hydrangeas, heather, and holophytic flora, witnessing the famous fajãs formed by lava flows along the way.
At 12 pm, we will pause for a picnic lunch featuring a sandwich, fruit, juice, water, and a traditional sweet treat.
Reenergized, we'll continue to the coast, stopping again at the Fajã do Ouvidor viewpoint before descending to the Simão Dias natural pool for a swim in the emerald waters of the Azores.
The hike concludes in São Jorge, with a return to your hotel by 4 pm.
