São Jorge Trip

We will pick you up from your hotel in São Jorge at 9:30 am before starting a tour full of surprises. First, we'll head to the Sete Fontes Forest Park, where we'll see various plant types such as azaleas, fuchsia, and cryptomerias.

Then, we will visit the volcanic formations of Ponta dos Rosais, a steep cape rising 650 feet above sea level. The journey continues by minibus to the Fajã de João Dias viewpoint to observe the merging of dense vegetation and the Atlantic.

Next, we will visit the Beira Cheese Factory to learn about cheese production and have a tasting opportunity. At 12 pm, a stop at a traditional restaurant will allow us to enjoy a buffet lunch.

Once reenergized, we will visit the church of Santa Barbara near Urzelina, then travel through the São Jorge mountains to the Casa do Parque for independent exploration of the island's geology, biodiversity, and heritage.

We will proceed to Fajã do Ouvidor and the Simão Dias natural pool. If the weather permits, we may snorkel in the clear waters. Later, we will pass the Fajã dos Cubres, the Caldeira Santo Cristo, and stop at Fajã dos Vimes to admire coastal coffee plantations.

The final stop is Ponta do Topo, offering a view of the Atlantic Ocean and Topo Island. The tour concludes back in São Jorge at 5:30 pm at your hotel.
