Are you looking for a unique experience at a historic location in Venice? Talent and art combine perfectly at this classical music concert in San Vidal Church.
Description
Immerse yourself in a magical atmosphere right in the heart of Venice and enjoy classical music in San Vidal Church. With a history dating back to the 11th century, this church features an interior adorned with works by Venetian painters. This site was also the burial place of the Venetian composer Baldasare Galuppi. Inside, you can visit an exhibition of original violins, violas, and cellos.
As the lights dim and performers take their places, the music begins, evoking the golden age of Venetian Baroque. The acoustics enhance the experience, allowing every note to resonate within the centuries-old walls.
The Interpreti Veneziani orchestra pays homage to Antonio Vivaldi with The Four Seasons, followed by a concert featuring violins, strings, and a harpsichord. The performance concludes with a piece by Marin Marais on the cello. The concert lasts for an hour and a half.
Days of Operation
The Vivaldi's The Four Seasons concert occurs only on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, you will experience Around Vivaldi: an immersive experience, honoring Antonio Vivaldi and other Baroque and Classical composers.
Venice Music Museum
This activity also includes admission to the Museum of Music, located in the ancient church of San Maurizio, which features a collection of 200 original instruments.
Here, you will find objects related to musical compositions of Venice and notable composers like Antonio Vivaldi, Amati, and Giovanni Battista Guadagnini.
