Guided Tour of the Doge's Palace

  • 1 Stunde

This tour takes you back to the golden age of the city, passing through the surprising living rooms of the Doge's Palace, the residence of the Duke of the Venetian Republic and the seat of Venetian political power through the centuries.

Description

At the specified time, we will meet in the center of Venice to explore one of the most renowned monuments in the city.

During this guided tour of the Doge's Palace, we will pass through the art-filled rooms from where the Doge and his advisors governed the republic for over 1,000 years.

As we visit the various halls, ascend the golden stairs, and admire the grand paintings of the era, you will experience the atmosphere of the Middle Ages.

The tour then descends into the old prison, revealing the plight of prisoners who, after crossing the Bridge of Sighs, ended up in the dungeons. The most notable prisoner of the Doge's Palace was Casanova.
