With this ticket, you can access the Maleficia exhibition: inquisition, torture and witchcraft between the 15th and 18th centuries, located inside the Palazzo delle Prigioni. This exhibition reveals the mysteries, secrets, legends and historical facts that marked the 1,000 years of the Republic of Venice.

The Palazzo delle Prigioni was one of the oldest prisons in Europe. Between the 15th and 18th centuries, the Tribunal of the Holy Inquisition condemned many women accused of sorcery and magic arts, as well as notable individuals like Giacomo Casanova.

Once you enter Maleficia, you can explore the exhibition areas of the palace and see original objects and reproductions of the instruments used to torture alleged heretics, such as the garrote and the stocks, along with original documents from the period.
