Venice's Ducal Palace Legends and Mysteries Tour

The former residence of the Doge of Venice hosts numerous enigmas. This tour explores the mysteries and legends of the Ducal Palace and includes entry to the museums at Piazza San Marco.

Description

The tour begins at the scheduled time at Campo San Gallo, leading us to the former residence of the Doge of Venice. The first stop will uncover the meaning of the mysterious pink columns, followed by a visit to the anti-chamber where former ambassadors were entertained. Next, we explore the bedroom of the three leaders, revealing its intriguing legend.

As we view works by Titian and Tintoretto, additional secrets of Venice's Ducal Palace will unfold. This includes crossing the Bridge of Sighs, linked to the sobs of convicts heading to prison. We will learn about Casanova's escape and interrogation methods of the time.

The tour lasts 50 minutes and concludes at the main entrance to the Ducal Palace.

Entry to the Piazza San Marco Museums

After the Ducal Palace tour, participants receive priority access tickets for three museums at Piazza San Marco: Correr Museum, Archaeological Museum, and the National Martian Library. Visits to these museums are unguided.

The Correr Museum visit may occur on the same day as the Ducal Palace tour or the day after. The other museums can be visited on any day, noting that the National Martian Library closes on Sundays.

Visitors may enter each museum once.
