Quiahuiztlán, Cempoala & La Antigua Tour
We'll begin our trip by travelling approximately 75 km (46 miles) north to arrive at the archaeological zone of Quiahuiztlan. This area is known for the remains of a significant pre-Hispanic cemetery of the Totonac culture, along with remains of pyramids and a ball game, offering panoramic views of the beaches of Villa Rica.
Next, we will arrive at Cempoala, which means "twenty waters," due to its surrounding rivers. It is a crucial archaeological zone of the Totonaca culture, featuring main structures such as the Temple of the Chimeneas and the circle of the Gladiators, among other pyramidal bases.
We will then proceed to Antigua, a small town by the Huitzilapan River. Here, we will explore remnants of the Spanish conquest, including the Casa del Cabildo, the first cathedral in Mexico, and the house of Hernán Cortés.
After enjoying the area and walking along the hanging bridge, we will return to Veracruz or Boca del Rio. The tour concludes 7 hours after the pickup time.
