Xalapa, Xico and Coatepec Tour
We will begin our tour in Xalapa, the capital of Veracruz, visiting the ex-hacienda El Lencero, where we will explore its coffee plantations, gardens, and a lake. The house contains period furniture and items owned by Antonio Lopez de Santana, a former president of Mexico. After this visit, a panoramic tour will cover notable sites in the city, including the Government Palace, Cathedral, University Zone, Paseo de los Lagos, and Juarez Park.
Next, we proceed to Xico, located at 2,800 meters above sea level. Here, we will visit the 16th-century Parish Church of Maria Magdalena, noted for its Neoclassical façade. We will also see the Patio de las Palomas, featuring a collection of over 400 embroidered dresses for the patron saint festivities. As we explore the cobbled streets, we can sample local delicacies like mole xiqueño. Continuing, we will reach the Texolo Waterfall and pass by coffee plantations and haciendas, with guides providing suggestions.
Finally, we will drive to Coatepec, situated at 1,250 meters above sea level, known for its high-altitude coffee. A visit to the coffee museum will include a coffee tasting and an introduction to various coffee types. The tour will conclude after 11 hours of activity.
