Your ticket offers access to one of the main Roman aqueducts in Southern France, located just a half hour from Avignon and Nîmes. You can explore the monument independently, including the museum, cinema, and the open-air exhibition.

Pont du Gard

This well-preserved Roman aqueduct allows you to walk alongside the great stone structure over the Gardon River with your skip-the-line ticket. It was constructed in the 1st century AD, utilized as an aqueduct until the 6th century, and later served as a toll road in the Middle Ages. In 2000, the bridge was restored to preserve its original appearance.

Pont du Gard Museum

Underneath the arches, the underground museum features an exhibition on the construction, showcasing that it took 1,000 men five years to complete, weighing almost 50,000 tonnes. The exhibition includes virtual reconstructions, films, and panels about Roman engineering and architecture.

Memories of the Garrigue

Adjacent to the Pont du Gard is the open-air exhibition focused on the history of Mediterranean agriculture, featuring some remains of the aqueduct.

The ticket office closes 30 minutes before the venues close; it is recommended to arrive at least 50 minutes prior.

Access to the Pont du Gard

Please note that the Pont du Gard car park only accepts vehicles with fewer than 10 people. If you are arriving by bus with more than 10 people, entry to the monument car park will be denied. In such cases, please contact our customer service department directly.
