Mauthausen Concentration Camp Guided Tour

On this day trip to the Mauthausen concentration camp, we will remember the events that took place in this significant labor camp of the Third Reich.

Tour Details

At the scheduled time, we will meet at Albertinaplatz and depart Vienna for a day trip to Mauthausen concentration camp.

During the journey, we will discuss facts about this labor camp, where from 1938 to 1945 approximately 200,000 people from across Europe were imprisoned, with around half losing their lives. Mauthausen serves as a reminder of Austria's dark history.

After a 2-hour drive, we will arrive in Upper Austria and enter Mauthausen. An audio guide will be provided for you to explore all areas of the camp. You will gain insights into the historical context and daily life in Mauthausen before its liberation in May 1945.

You can walk at your own pace through facilities such as the training yard, barracks, kitchen, Wiener-Graben quarry, Death Stairs, SS quarters, and gas chamber.

On our return to Vienna, we will stop for lunch before concluding the tour at the meeting point 8.5 hours later.
