Tour Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the main entrance of the Upper Belvedere Palace to start our guided tour.
Built in the 18th century by Prince Eugene of Savoy, the Belvedere Palace is a significant Baroque palace complex designed by Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt. The Upper and Lower Belvedere are connected by a garden, with the Upper Belvedere serving as a reception and banquet hall, reflecting a blend of French and Italian styles.
The palace houses one of Austria’s finest art collections. Accompanied by our guide, we'll visit the Art Gallery, featuring artwork from medieval times to the 19th century. Highlights include pieces by Monet, Van Gogh, Munch, Goya, and Schiele, as well as the world’s largest collection of works by Gustav Klimt, including “The Kiss” and “Judith.”
After exploring the artwork, we will visit the Marble Hall, where the Austrian State Treaty was signed in 1955. The room features a fresco by Carlo Carlone, completed in 1723.
We'll then stroll through the palace gardens, which include fountains, statues, and designed flowerbeds, offering views of the palace and Vienna.
Finally, after a total of 1.5 to 2 hours, we'll conclude the tour.
