Azores Marine Birdwatching Expedition

We'll meet at 8 am at the port in Vila Franca do Campo. After a brief introduction to the birds of the Azores, we will set off on a zodiac tour along the coast. This area is home to the largest colonies of birds, and during the trip, accompanied by a naturalist guide, we will learn to identify the notable endemic birds of the Azores.

As we cruise alongside São Miguel, we may see sandpipers, shearwaters, egrets, and native species such as buzzards. High-precision binoculars will be provided for detailed viewing.

We will continue the zodiac tour to Vila Franca do Campo Islet, where we will have the opportunity to identify wagtails, known for their seasonal feather coloration.

Finally, at 11 am, we will return to the departure pier.

Bird-watching

São Miguel and Vila Franca do Campo Islet are excellent locations for bird watching. However, the number and species of birds observed will depend on factors such as weather and breeding seasons.
