Join us to travel through the history of the Azores. The strategic importance of these Portuguese Islands is vital. At the scheduled time, we will meet at the Vila Franca do Campo Marina to begin this colonisers' tour.

We will start at the Ethnography Museum, showcasing items from various archaeological digs on São Miguel, providing insight into the oldest traditions on this island.

Next, we will explore Vila Franca do Campo's old town, visiting the main monuments, including the São Miguel Arcanjo Church, São Lázaro Church, António da Silva Cabral Garden, and the site commemorating the D. António Prior do Crato Naval Battle.

The tour includes discussions on significant events of the colonisers on the island, reflecting the rise of the Portuguese Empire in the Atlantic. We will visit the Nossa Senhora da Paz hermitage, renowned for its panoramic views of Vila Franca do Campo.

Additionally, we will visit a pineapple farm to learn about its significance since the end of the 19th century. We'll conclude by tasting the Queijadas da Vila, a typical sweet on São Miguel produced in Vila Franca do Campo.

After 3 hours, we will return to the starting point.
