On this boat trip along the coast of São Miguel, you'll admire whales and dolphins. You'll also sail the waters of the islet of Vila Franca do Campo.

Whale Watching + Vila Islet Boat Tour

At the agreed time, we'll meet at the port of Vila Franca do Campo, located south of São Miguel Island. The experience begins with a brief introduction to local wildlife and safety guidelines for the high seas. Then, we will board a zodiac boat to spot whales and dolphins in the Azores.

The Azores is home to marine wildlife, including blue, humpback, sperm, and pilot whales, as well as bottlenose dolphins. A naturalist guide will assist in identifying species based on specific characteristics such as tail size and skin color.

After the whale watching, we will sail around the islet of Vila Franca do Campo to admire its caldera. Conditions permitting, we may also see seabirds like Cory's shearwater and the black-footed tern.

After three hours of sailing in the Atlantic, we will return to the departure dock.
