How are Porto wines made? Discover this on a visit to the Fonseca Winery in Vila Nova de Gaia and enjoy a glass.
Why Visit The Fonseca Winery?
The Portuguese banks of the Duero produce exquisite wines in areas like Vila Nova de Gaia. This town, located across the river from Porto, is home to the Fonseca Winery, established over 200 years ago.
This wine-tourism center tour lasts around one hour. During your self-guided tour, you'll learn about the production of Porto wines, explore the history of Quinta do Panascal, understand the aging process, and see modern sustainable winemaking techniques.
The guided tour concludes in the tasting room, where you'll sample a glass of Oporto Fonseca Bin 27. Children can enjoy grape juice made from Duero Valley grapes.
