Hiking in La Periquera Ecological Park

With this hiking route through the Ecological Park La Periquera, we will explore a landscape featuring waterfalls and oak forests in the heart of Boyacá.

Hiking in La Periquera Ecological Park

We will meet at your chosen time at Carrera 9 in Villa de Leyva and travel to La Periquera Ecological Park, a nature reserve for an exciting hiking route.

Upon arrival, we will enter a 2-kilometre-long (1.2 miles) path filled with oak trees, escenillos, rosemary, mortillos, and chilcos, along with endemic plants.

We will reach the Cebada riverbed, which runs through the park and forms various waterfalls. We will have the opportunity to see three waterfalls, including one that is 15 metres high (49 feet), named La Periquera.

During the hike, you may encounter wildlife such as wild rabbits, armadillos, ocelots, and weasels.

After connecting with Colombian nature, we will return to our starting point, with an overall duration of approximately six hours of activity.
