Tour Details
At your chosen time, we'll meet in front of the Selina Hotel and start our guided tour of Villa de Leyva. This town in the Boyacá region is one of the most beautiful towns in Colombia.
From here, we'll walk towards the main square, an iconic spot featuring Our Lady of the Rosary Church, a fountain, and cobbled roads, giving the impression that time has stood still for centuries. Villa de Leyva's square is one of the largest squares in South America, which contributed to its designation as a National Monument.
Next, we'll discuss the origins of this town, dating back to prehistoric times. Villa de Leyva hosts three museums showcasing Cretaceous fossils and dinosaur sculptures found in this area, including the most complete pliosaur specimen discovered globally.
We'll admire the colonial architecture as we stroll through streets with colourful balconies, noting how many mansions have been converted into craft shops and charming hotels, enhancing the charm of this town in the Eastern Cordillera of the Andes.
After 2 hours and 30 minutes wandering around the old part of the town, we'll conclude our tour in the town centre.
