Cucunubá Hiking Tour
We'll meet at 8 am at the main park of Ubaté. From there, we'll start a hiking route through the Eastern Cordillera of Colombia.
This 5 km (3 miles) hike will allow us to explore the biodiversity of the natural area in the department of Cundinamarca. Participants may see deer, Andean condors, eagles, and approximately 180 different species of birds.
The route will lead us to notable sites such as the Cucunubá lagoon. During the hike through the Colombian páramo, native vegetation will be observed alongside discussions of myths and ancestral legends related to the area.
We'll reach a waterfall located by the lagoon, historically significant as it was utilized by the natives in their daily activities. Additionally, we'll discuss the importance of wool in the region and highlight that Cucunubá is known for producing the best textiles in Creole sheep wool.
At 2 pm, we'll return to the meeting point in Ubaté.
