Cucunubá Hiking Tour
We'll meet at 8 am at the main park of Ubaté to start a hiking route that explores the landscapes of the Eastern Cordillera of Colombia.
This 5 km (3 miles) hike allows us to discover the area's biodiversity in Cundinamarca. We may encounter deer, Andean condors, and eagles, with approximately 180 different species of birds present.
The hiking route includes visits to the Cucunubá lagoon. As we traverse the Colombian páramo with native vegetation, we'll hear myths and legends of the region.
We'll reach a waterfall near the lagoon, historically significant for native daily activities. Additionally, we will discuss the role of wool in the region, highlighting that Cucunubá is known for producing the best textiles from Creole sheep wool.
We will return to the meeting point in Ubaté by 2 pm.
