Cucunubá Hiking Tour
We will meet at 8 am at the main park of Ubaté. The hiking route is 5 km (3 miles) and will explore the biodiversity of the department of Cundinamarca, where it is possible to see deer, Andean condors, and eagles. This area is home to approximately 180 different species of birds.
Our route includes unique locations such as the Cucunubá lagoon. As we walk through the Colombian páramo, we will hear myths and ancestral legends about these lands.
The hike will take us to a waterfall located on the shores of the lagoon, historically used by the natives for daily activities. We will discuss the importance of wool in this region and note that Cucunubá produces the best textiles in Creole sheep wool.
We will return to the meeting point in Ubaté at 2 pm.
