Cucunubá Hiking Tour
We'll meet at 8 am at the main park of Ubaté to begin a 5 km (3 miles) hiking route exploring the biodiversity of the department of Cundinamarca. During the hike, participants may see deer, Andean condors, and eagles, with opportunities to observe approximately 180 different species of birds.
The route includes a visit to the Cucunubá lagoon, where we will walk through the Colombian páramo, enriched with native vegetation. Participants will hear myths and ancestral legends about the region.
Our hike will culminate at a waterfall on the lagoon's shores, noted for its historical significance to the natives for daily activities. We will also discuss the relevance of wool in this area, highlighting Cucunubá's reputation for producing the best textiles in Creole sheep wool.
We will conclude the tour and return to the meeting point in Ubaté by 2 pm.
