On this hiking route through Cucunubá, we'll discover the landscapes of the Ubaté Valley in the Eastern Cordillera of Colombia.
Cucunubá Hiking Tour
We'll meet at 8 am at the main park of Ubaté. The hiking route is 5 km (3 miles) long, allowing us to explore the biodiversity of this area in the department of Cundinamarca. Wildlife includes deer, Andean condors, and approximately 180 different species of birds.
The route will take us to unique sites, including the Cucunubá lagoon. While walking through the Colombian páramo, we will share myths and ancestral legends of the region.
We will reach a waterfall on the shores of the lagoon, historically significant for native activities. Discussions will cover the importance of wool in the area and the production of high-quality textiles from Creole sheep wool.
We will return to the meeting point in Ubaté at 2 pm.
