8-Day Tour of Nicaragua

On this 8-day tour through Nicaragua, we will explore colonial towns, volcanoes, and natural parks to discover the best offerings of this country.

8-Day Tour Details

Day 1: Managua

Arrive at Managua Airport and meet for transport to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring Nicaragua's capital or relaxing.

Day 2: Managua – León

After breakfast, visit Managua's historic center for a guided tour, including the Plaza de la Revolución, Cathedral, and Laguna de Tiscapa. Then, take a 2-hour drive to León for lunch and a walk through its streets, visiting the Catedral de León and local market. Return to the hotel for rest.

Day 3: León

Enjoy a free morning in León. In the afternoon, experience sandboarding on Cerro Negro Volcano, which includes a 1-hour hike and 10 minutes of sliding down at speeds up to 37 mph. Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 4: León – Granada

Travel after breakfast to Granada. Participate in a guided tour exploring churches, central plaza, and La Merced Church, including a climb of the bell tower. Have lunch with vigorón and enjoy a boat tour of Las Isletas at sunset before returning to the hotel.

Day 5: Granada

Choose from three options: relax at the hotel, hike in Mombacho Volcano Cloud Forest, or hike Masaya Volcano at sunset. The Mombacho hike includes three trails totaling 5 miles (8 km), while the Masaya hike lasts 20 minutes to a viewpoint at sunset.

Day 6: Granada – San Juan de Oriente – Mirador de Catarina – Granada

Visit San Juan de Oriente to learn about pottery at a local workshop. Then, enjoy views at Mirador de Catarina before participating in a Nicaraguan cooking class in Granada.

Day 7: Granada – Laguna de Apoyo – Granada

Spend the day at Laguna de Apoyo, enjoying water activities, followed by lunch and return to the hotel.

Day 8: Laguna de Apoyo – Managua

After breakfast, travel back to Managua and be dropped off at the airport for your flight.
