Excursion to Ometepe Island

Explore the largest volcanic island in the world, spot congo monkeys, and learn about Nicaragua's history on this excursion to the freshwater island of Ometepe!

Description

At 8 am, we will pick you up in Managua and embark on a 2-hour minibus journey to San Jorge, where we will catch a ferry to the freshwater island of Ometepe. Prepare to be amazed by the vastness of Lake Nicaragua!

Upon arrival, we will venture to the Chaco Verde Nature Reserve, known for its diverse fauna and flora, including congo monkeys. We will explore the natural beauty of this reserve until around 1 pm, when we will give you some free time to have lunch at one of the park's restaurants.

Afterward, we will visit the Ojo de Agua pools, where you can enjoy a relaxing swim in volcanic waters. We will also explore the impressive collection of pre-Columbian artifacts at the El Ceibo Museum.

To conclude the excursion, we will return to the ferry and make our way back to Managua in the minibus. You can expect to arrive at your hotel at around 7 pm.
