Explore the largest volcanic island in the world, spot congo monkeys, and learn about Nicaragua's history on this excursion to the freshwater island of Ometepe!
Description
At 8 am, pickup in Managua will commence a 2-hour minibus journey to San Jorge, where we'll take a ferry to the freshwater island of Ometepe. Enjoy views of Lake Nicaragua.
Upon arrival, we will go to the Chaco Verde Nature Reserve, which features various fauna and flora, including congo monkeys. The exploration will last until approximately 1 pm, at which point participants will have free time for lunch at one of the park's restaurants.
After lunch, we will visit the Ojo de Agua pools for a swim in volcanic waters. Participants will also have the chance to see pre-Columbian artifacts at the El Ceibo Museum.
The excursion will conclude with a return ferry to San Jorge and a minibus transfer back to Managua. Arrival at your hotel is expected around 7 pm.
