Discover the ruins of León Viejo and present-day León, the city where Rubén Darío spent his last days, with this excursion from Managua!

Description

We'll kick off our adventure to the historic city of León at 9 am, picking you up from your hotel in Managua. The bus ride will take approximately an hour and a half to reach the base of the Momotombo volcano. Here, we will uncover the ruins of León Viejo, founded by Spanish conquistador Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba.

Next, we will move on to present-day León, starting at the Cathedral, an architectural masterpiece and the resting place of poet Rubén Darío. Following this, we will visit the House-Museum to learn about Darío's childhood and life.

You will have 1 hour of free time to explore the local market and sample traditional products of León's gastronomy.

Our cultural tour continues with a visit to the Art Center of the Ortiz-Gurdián Foundation, where we will explore artistic techniques from this region of Nicaragua. After this engaging experience, we will begin our return journey to Managua.

Finally, we will drop you off at your hotel by 5 pm.
