Somoto Canyon Excursion

Discover an incredible natural gem in the Madriz department of Nicaragua with our excursion to Somoto Canyon from Managua!

Description

We'll kick off this adventure by picking you up at your hotel in Managua at 6 am. The excursion leads to Somoto Canyon.

During the comfortable minibus ride, we'll have a quick stop for breakfast. After approximately 4 hours on the road, we'll reach the gorge, where a knowledgeable guide will provide the equipment for our adventure.

The journey begins with a 1.2-mile (2 km) hike through knee-deep water. Afterwards, we'll board a boat for a scenic ride to the entrance of the canyon.

At this point, you'll have 3 options: enjoy the viewpoint, take a swim in the Coco River, or ride on a giant floatie for 1,312 ft (400 meters) down the canyon.

By 2 pm, we'll conclude our adventure with a traditional lunch including rice, beans, salad, and chicken.

Finally, we will return to your hotel in Managua, arriving around 7 pm.
