Day Trip to Oxapampa
We'll meet at 8 am at Leopoldo Krausse Avenue in Villa Rica. The road trip to the village of Oxapampa will take about an hour and a half.
Upon arrival, we'll begin a guided tour of Oxapampa to explore its history, being the second colony founded by Austro-German immigrants after the town of Pozuzo. The tour includes a walk through the streets featuring characteristic wooden buildings with European-style architecture, including the notable church of Santa Rosa.
We'll then visit a handicraft store for souvenir shopping, followed by a trip to the Floralp dairy plant, where production of a variety of cheeses and yogurts will be demonstrated.
Next is the Wharapo, a mill for extracting sugar cane juice, where you can taste traditional drinks.
Afterward, we'll explore the Tunki Cave in the Selva Encantadora de Oxapampa, featuring stalactites and stalagmites amidst lush vegetation.
Finally, we will stop at a ranch where you can participate in activities like canoeing or horseback riding. We will return to Villa Rica, arriving back at around 6 pm.
