Description
At the scheduled time, we will meet on Paseo Delicias ("Delicias Street") for a visit to a ham drying factory in Villares de la Reina.
Upon arrival, we will enter the Experience Room to watch an introductory video detailing the factory's history and founder. Key processes such as cutting, salting, curing, and processing of Iberian ham will be explained before the product is sold.
We will learn to differentiating between types of Iberian ham based on pig breeds and diet. This masterclass will enhance our understanding of the product.
Participants will wear necessary equipment for the factory tour, revealing how fine ham is produced. Salamanca is known for its culinary tradition, especially in sausages.
We will return to the Experience Room for a tasting of 100% Iberian acorn-fed ham and a selection of sausages, paired with a glass of locally produced wine.
The visit lasts 2.5 hours, concluding at the factory's main door.
