In this activity, you'll discover the secrets to a leg of Spanish ham and try one of the star products of the Spanish food scene. Delicious!

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll meet on Paseo Delicias ("Delicias Street") for a visit to a ham drying factory in Villares de la Reina.

Upon arrival, we'll head to the Experience Room, where an introductory video will cover the factory's history and its founder. The main steps of cutting, salting, curing, and processing Iberian ham will be discussed.

We'll learn to differentiate between various types of Iberian ham based on the pigs' race and diet. This knowledge will be crucial in understanding the distinctions.

Next, we’ll don the necessary equipment for a tour of the factory to discover how this fine ham is made. Salamanca is well-known for its culinary tradition, especially regarding sausages.

We’ll return to the Experience Room for a tasting of 100% Iberian acorn-fed ham and a selection of sausages, accompanied by a glass of wine made in the Salamanca mountain range. This will be a memorable experience.

After a 2.5-hour visit, we will bid farewell at the factory's main door.
