Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at Villavieja Main Park to start this guided tour of the most renowned sites in Villavieja, a town that receives thousands of archaeologists for fossil investigations.
We'll begin our tour at the Paleontological Museum, where you can explore three rooms showcasing geological eras and 950 pieces discovered in the region. Highlighted are fossils of giant turtles, sloth bears, crabs, and fish from over 14 million years ago.
Next, we'll visit the Casa Museo del Totumo (Totumo House Museum), featuring handmade items from the calabash tree, a plant native to the Tatacoa Desert. Capture a traditional souvenir to take home.
Then, we will walk to the Magdalena River Port to embark on a 45-minute boat tour. During the journey, we will reveal town mysteries and legends while you admire the flora and fauna. Keep an eye out for iguanas, turtles, and birds.
We'll also visit La Planta Tatacoa, an artisan beer factory, where you can enjoy a beer and take pictures if you wish.
Finally, after a total of 4 hours, we will return to Central Park.
