On this day trip starting in Kampala, we will visit the source of the Nile River, the Ssezibwa waterfall, the Mabira forest, and Jinja.

Day Trip to the Source of the Nile River

We will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala at 7:30 am and drive to explore natural wonders of the area. Waterfalls, forests, and the source of the River Nile are included.

First, we will visit the Ssezibwa waterfall, known for its natural beauty and the legend that surrounds it, including beliefs about its healing powers.

Next, we will travel to the Mabira Forest for a relaxing walk through the forest reserve to learn about within it the many endangered species. As we walk, we will share stories about explorers who sought the source of the River Nile.

Around midday, we will arrive in Jinja for a traditional-style meal. After eating, we will proceed to the source of the River Nile. A boat ride upstream will take us to the location where John Speke first identified the Nile's origin at Lake Victoria.

After our tour, we will return to your hotel in Kampala, concluding the trip at 2:30 pm.
