During this guided exploration of Kampala, you will uncover the iconic sites that define the Ugandan capital. The fascinating blend of tradition and modernity will leave a lasting impression.

Discovery of Kampala

Your journey begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Kampala at the scheduled time. We will embark on our adventure by venturing into the heart of Uganda's capital, where history and culture await.

Our initial destination is Mengo, also known as Lubiri Palace, the historical official residence of the King of Buganda. Here, we will delve into the intriguing history of this site, including its transformation into a prison for political detainees during the 1960s.

Proceeding with the tour, we will make our way to the magnificent Uganda National Mosque, located atop Kampala Hill. Remarkably, this impressive structure stands as a skyscraper mosque, a notable gift from Colonel Muammar Gaddafi of Libya.

After taking in the beauty of this grand mosque, our journey continues to the lively Owino Market. Here, you will experience the vibrant stalls filled with local goods while learning about the culinary heritage of the city. Adjacent to the market is the old Kampala Taxi Motor Park, which is also an essential stop on our route.

Next, we will visit the Uganda Museum, celebrated as one of East Africa's premier museums. We will stroll through its diverse exhibits that highlight the country's culture, natural history, archaeology, and scientific achievements—offering a fitting conclusion to our exploration!

At the end of this enlightening journey, we will return to your hotel and conclude our tour with heartfelt farewells after a total duration of 5 hours.
