Don't miss out on seeing rhinos during your trip to Uganda. On this excursion from Kampala, we'll take a walking tour of the Ziwa rhino sanctuary.
Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Kampala at 7 am and drive north towards Murchison Falls National Park, where the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is located.
After approximately three hours of driving, we'll reach our destination and set out on a walking tour in search of these endangered animals. Rhinos were declared extinct in Uganda in 1983, after the Ugandan civil war. In 1993, the Wildlife Authority was created to protect and restore wildlife.
The Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary was opened, and the first rhino was born in 2009. During our walk, you will try to spot some of the 30 rhinos that live in the area, while learning facts about this species.
After our walking tour of the sanctuary, you'll have free time to rest and option to participate in other activities, such as a Nile River boat ride.
Finally, we'll return you to your hotel in Kampala, where the tour will conclude at 4 pm.
