Lake Wanaka Islands Cruise

When booking this activity, you can select from 3 different ways to enjoy Lake Wanaka. All start in Roys Bay at the specified time:

Cruise to Ruby Island (1 hour)

For this option, we will sail on a catamaran at 1 pm. After approximately 15 minutes, we will arrive at Ruby Island, where you can disembark to take a pleasant walk around the island and capture photos from various viewpoints.

Cruise to Stevensons Island (2 hours)

This option departs from Wanaka at 3 pm. We will sail for approximately 45 minutes to the island. You can take a half-hour guided tour of the island to learn about native animals and plants or explore independently. The views of the Southern Alps from Stevensons Island are notable.

Cruise to Mou Waho Island (3.5 hours)

This option includes a visit to Mou Waho Island, a predator-free nature reserve featuring a glacier lake at its summit. We will meet in Wanaka at 9 am and sail to the island. After arriving, we will hike for 2 hours, climbing to the lookout point for views of the region while learning about the local flora and fauna, geology, and colonial and Maori history.
