Mou Waho Island Day Trip

The tour meets in Wanaka Marina at the chosen time, climbing aboard the boat for a 45-minute cruise on Lake Wanaka until reaching our destination.

Mou Waho Island features a unique geographical setup: it is an island with a lake, on an island, in a lake, which itself is on an island.

Upon arrival at Mou Waho, a one and a half hour trek through the nature reserve is planned, culminating in a climb to the highest peak for views of Lake Wanaka and its surroundings. This trek offers the chance to spot some of New Zealand's exotic birds, including the weka.

After the trek, participants will return to the boat for the trip back to the starting point.
