Whitehorse Ice Fishing
The day begins at 1 pm at the Sternwheeler Hotel & Conference Centre, from where we'll head to one of the many lakes in the Yukon. This area is known for its variety of lakes and rivers, making ice fishing a suitable activity.
We will take a snowshoe walk to the selected lake, enjoying the frozen landscape. Once we arrive, we'll drill a hole in the ice, which can be up to 1 metre thick in winter.
A small bonfire will be made for warmth while we fish. Around the Yukon lakes, you can find northern pike, lake trout, arctic grayling, and rainbow trout.
If successful in catching fish, our guide will prepare and cook it over the fire.
Finally, we'll return to the starting point by 5 pm.
