Lake District Half-Day Tour

At 2 pm, we will meet at Windermere train station and board a minibus for a tour of the north of the Lake District National Park.

The first stop will be at Kirkstone Inn, the highest inhabited building in the park, where we will enjoy views of Lake Windermere and Ambleside.

We will descend into the valley of the River Rothay to see Brothers Water Lake and the towns of Patterdale and Glenridding. Subsequently, we will visit Ullswater Lake, the second largest spring in the Lake District, with insights into its connections to poet William Wordsworth.

Next, we will travel to Blencathra to view its 868-meter summit and the Sharp Edge slopes, followed by a visit to the Castlerigg Stone Circle.

We will then visit Derwentwater Lake, which has connections to the late author Beatrix Potter, and is also a filming location for some scenes from Star Wars.

Continuing the tour, we will stop at Ashness Bridge, known for its picturesque views, and at Surprise View, offering vistas of Bassenthwaite Lake, Solway Firth, and the mountains of Scotland.

The tour concludes at around 6:20 pm at the starting point.
