Description
Day 1: Windhoek
Your adventure in Namibia begins here! Upon arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, you will be transported to your hotel to drop off your bags. Once settled, a guided city tour of Windhoek will commence, giving you insight into its main landmarks.
During this three-hour journey, you will learn about the city's past while visiting key monuments such as the Church of Christ, the Sam Nujoma statue honoring the nation’s founding father, the old fortress, and the Supreme Court.
The first day will conclude back at your hotel.
Day 2: Windhoek – Namib Desert
After breakfast, you’ll embark on a 4x4 journey south towards the small town of Rehoboth, en route to the scenic Naukluft Mountains nestled within the renowned Namib Desert.
Upon arrival, you can check into your accommodation, and following lunch, embark on a captivating walking tour through desert trails culminating with a breathtaking sunset from the Elim Dune. This experience promises one of Namibia's most striking vistas!
In the evening, return to the hotel for dinner and relaxation.
Day 3: Namib Desert
Rise early to witness the sunrise over the Namib Desert as you enjoy breakfast. As you traverse the rolling dunes, observe the changing hues of the landscape.
Following this, a brief trek takes you to Deadvlei, where the unique history of this location unfolds while you climb Big Daddy, the tallest sand dune in the region.
From this remarkable vantage point, you’ll trek towards Sossusvlei, a salt flat encircled by towering red dunes and savor a traditional picnic lunch. After this restorative break, continue your explorations before heading back to your campsite.
As day turns to dusk, venture to the Sesriem Canyon, known as the gateway to the Namib Desert, for an evening walk amidst its stunning landscapes.
Conclude the day with dinner at the campsite.
Day 4: Namib Desert – Swakopmund
Post-breakfast, depart the Namib Desert and journey towards Swakopmund. Your first stop is at Solitaire, a quaint village renowned for its apple pie. Care for a slice?
Continue along the coastal route to witness the Tropic of Capricorn, the Gaub Pass, and Kusieb Canyon, eventually reaching Walvis Bay, whose vibrant lagoon attracts colorful flamingos during certain seasons!
Return to your hotel in Swakopmund for the evening.
Day 5: Swakopmund
The fifth day is yours to explore Swakopmund at your leisure. Stroll through its charming streets, unwind on the beaches, or engage in thrilling activities such as sandboarding, quad biking, or a visit to Sandwich Harbour.
Day 6: Swakopmund – Damaraland
Following breakfast, depart Swakopmund and head north along the renowned Skeleton Coast. Your first destination will be the Zeila Shipwreck, a vessel that met its fate in 2008 and remains a haunting sight.
Next, visit Cape Cross, home to an extensive sea lion colony. Proceed towards Henties Bay, before entering the picturesque region of Damaraland, one of Namibia's most striking landscapes.
Your day will close with dinner and rest at your Damaraland lodge.
Day 7: Damaraland
Awake early to soak in the exquisite scenery of Damaraland at sunrise. As the day progresses, keep an eye out for elephants and learn how these fascinating creatures adapt to desert life—a truly remarkable experience awaits!
In the afternoon, visit Twyfelfontein, home to one of Africa’s largest collections of petroglyphs. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features intricate carvings of rhinos, elephants, ostriches, and giraffes, alongside human and animal footprints.
Return to your accommodation for a relaxing evening.
Day 8: Damaraland – Etosha National Park
Today’s adventure leads you to the famous Etosha National Park! After breakfast, you will travel through the Galton Gate to the Okaukuejo Campsite, your home for the night. Once settled, embark on a safari to observe the diverse wildlife including flamingos, leopards, rhinos, zebras, giraffes, and possibly lions and elephants. It’s bound to be an unforgettable experience!
End the day with dinner and relaxation at the campsite.
Day 9: Etosha National Park
Following breakfast, dedicate the entire day to exploring Etosha National Park, maintaining a lookout for more wildlife encounters. Stay alert; surprises await around every corner!
You will spend the night at the Onguma Campsite after a full day observing the behaviors of the park's fascinating animals.
Day 10: Etosha National Park – Windhoek
Your safari journey comes to a close on the tenth day. After breakfast, travel back to Windhoek, pausing to visit a leopard reserve to observe these magnificent animals up close.
You’ll also stop by a local market to discover unique Namibian crafts, the perfect opportunity for last-minute souvenirs!
Finally, you will arrive back at Windhoek airport by 5 pm.
