Famen Temple & Qianling Mausoleum Day Trip

  • 8 Stunden

Delve into the history of the Tang Dynasty, Shakyamuni and Emperor Gaozong on this tour of the Famen Temple and the Qianling Mausoleum.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Xi'an and set off on a 1.5-hour journey to the Famen Temple, one of the most important Buddhist temples in China that houses the relics of Shakyamuni. The guided tour of the Famen Temple will last between 2.5 and 3 hours, during which we will appreciate its pagoda and understand its significance for followers of Buddha.

After visiting the temple, we'll dine at a traditional restaurant to enjoy a typical Chinese lunch featuring regional specialties. From there, we'll proceed to the Qianling Mausoleum, constructed 1300 years ago at an altitude of more than 1000 meters (3280 feet).

Upon arrival, we will walk the "spiritual path" to the mausoleum entrance, commemorating the members of the House of Li. At the gate, two stone lions will greet us. We will take a guided tour of the complex, visiting the tombs of Emperor Gaozong and Empress Wu, as well as Prince Yide's Mausoleum, showcasing impressive murals of palace life.

At the end of the tour, we will return to your hotel in Xi'an, arriving 8 hours after pickup.
