2-Day Trip to the Aral Sea

Day 1: Nukus - Aral Sea

Pick up will be at your hotel in Nukus at 8:30 am for a 450-kilometer (280-mile) road trip to the Aral Sea. Along the way, we will stop in the Kungrag district to visit the local bazaar and explore various stalls.

Next, we'll visit Sudochye Lake, linked to the Aral Sea, to learn about the over 230 bird species found in the area despite the lake being dry. Eventually, we will reach the yurt camp at the Aral Sea where we will camp for the night.

Day 2: Aral Sea - Ship Cemetery - Nukus

After breakfast overlooking the Aral Sea, we will head to the ship graveyard of Moynaq. This area showcases the history behind the abandoned vessels linked to environmental changes in Uzbekistan.

Next, we will visit the Mizdakhan necropolis adjacent to the Gyaur-Kala fortress. This site is one of the oldest pilgrimage locations in Uzbekistan, with its name meaning "the fortress of non-believers." You will discover various insights about this historic place.

We will return to your hotel in Nukus between 4:30 and 5 pm.
