Have a blast exploring Lake Yarinacocha with this excursion from Pucallpa, where you'll enjoy the flora and fauna along the shores, visit an Indigenous community, and relax at San José Beach.
Lake Yarinacocha Excursion
Pickup is at 9 am from your hotel in Pucallpa, followed by a transfer to Puerto Callao, the capital of the Yarinacocha district. From there, a boat ride will begin to tour Lake Yarinacocha, where various Amazonian species can be observed, including local dolphins if fortunate.
After a two-hour boat ride, a visit to a Shipibo-Konibo Indigenous community will provide insight into their customs and showcase traditional handicrafts such as garments and ceramics. After leaving the community, the tour continues on Lake Yarinacocha with two stops: the village of Caserío 11 de Agosto, known for its local handicrafts from vegetable fibers, and the beach of San José.
The excursion concludes with a hike through the jungle to explore local flora and fauna. The return to Puerto Callao will occur, with a bus transfer back to your hotel in Pucallpa expected by 1 pm.
Full-day tour
For a more complete trip to Lake Yarinacocha, consider the full-day option. This includes the standard itinerary plus a visit to the right bank of the lake and the Pacacocha stream, where you may spot local sloths. The full-day tour concludes at your hotel in Pucallpa at 6 pm.
